Sarah Huben
MS, CCC-SLP
Founder & Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist
Hi, I'm Sarah!
I'm a speech-language pathologist with a passion for helping children build confidence, communication skills, and a love for learning. I believe that the best therapy happens when children are having fun, so my goal is to make every session so engaging that it feels like play. By incorporating movement, music, arts and crafts, games, and each child's unique interests, I create meaningful learning experiences that keep children motivated and excited to participate.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with children across a variety of settings, including homes, schools, clinics, daycares, outdoor programs, and summer camps. My background in literacy-based intervention and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams has shaped my belief that communication is best supported through a team approach.
I believe parents, caregivers, teachers, and therapists all play an important role in a child's success. That's why I prioritize collaboration every step of the way, providing families with practical strategies, handouts, and even videos from therapy sessions so they feel confident supporting their child's communication outside of our time together. My goal is to help children not only learn new skills during therapy but also confidently use them at home, at school, and in everyday life.
Originally from sunny Florida, I now call East Charlotte home, where I live with my fiancé, our two cats, and our lovable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Kingsley. When I'm not working, you can usually find me exploring local parks, thrift shopping, listening to music, or working on a new craft project.
I'm so excited to partner with your family and create a therapy experience that's personalized, engaging, and filled with opportunities for your child to grow and thrive.

Why Paper Kite?
The name Paper Kite Speech Therapy was inspired by two beautiful symbols of flight: the Paper Kite butterfly and the classic kite. Both represent growth, movement, and the idea that every child has the potential to soar in their own way.
The Paper Kite butterfly is known for its slow, graceful flight. Unlike butterflies that dart quickly from place to place, it takes its time and moves at its own pace. This feels a lot like the journey of learning to communicate. Progress doesn't always happen in a straight line. There can be challenges, pauses, little victories, and moments when everything suddenly clicks. Every child deserves the time, patience, and support to grow at their own pace.
A traditional kite offers another meaningful reminder: it takes the right support, guidance, and a little breeze to get off the ground. Speech therapy can provide that same foundation, helping children build skills, confidence, and the tools they need to communicate in everyday life. Paper Kite Speech Therapy is here to celebrate every small win, make learning feel fun, and help each child find their own way to spread their wings and soar.
